After Pink Floyd frontman Roger Waters, considered one of the most prominent anti-Israel voices in the world, justified the massacre carried out by Hamas terrorists near the Gaza Strip and made light of the fact that babies were also murdered in the massacre, musician Aviv Geffen attacked him. Geffen posted a photo of Waters wearing a swastika and wrote: "Looking at you is like looking at a withering flower in a vase."
In an interview with American journalist Glenn Greenwald, Waters said: "My first reaction to the attack was, 'Let's wait and see what happened. My second thought was, 'How the hell didn't the Israelis know this was going to happen?! Didn't the Israeli army hear the explosions at the bases when Hamas blew up the border fence?! There's something strange about that."
Asked by the interviewer if the Hamas massacre could be justified, Waters replied: "We don't know exactly what they did. Is it justified to resist the occupation? Yes, but this is the Geneva Convention. Morally, they must resist the occupation that began in 1967. It's their duty." On the killing of Israeli civilians, Waters said: "Of course I'm not in favor of it, but it was blown out of proportion, the Israelis made up stories about beheading babies."
